Two countries, two port cities, two women. marKO – that's Marta Jansana and Frauke Kohlmorgen. Working with four hands, the two artists create surprising, vibrant, yet at the same time serene works of art that harmonize perfectly with each other, using sand, a wealth of paint, and special recipes.

The application of multiple layers and different processes creates motifs with a rich texture that evoke nature, the world, and existence. In them, one recognizes deserts, oceans, crater landscapes, or even a piece of the universe. Their colorful complexity continually presents the images in a new light.

What's particularly fascinating is the ability to combine them with other art. marKO's works stand alone and are equally capable of entering into a symbiosis.
